One of these innovations is hose-reel irrigation, a mobile sprinkler system that distributes water through a hose that automatically retracts as irrigation progresses.<\/p>

Its main advantage is versatility: it can be used across different types of terrain, including uneven fields and areas without permanent irrigation infrastructure.<\/p>

During 2026, Guatemala\u2019s Sugar Cane Agroindustry conducted evaluations of this technology to identify ways to improve water distribution in sugar cane fields.<\/p>

The results showed that properly configuring the system can achieve more uniform irrigation.<\/p>
